Who Am I?
My name is Maxfield Fleishman. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. When I was seven years old I joined an afterschool program called Rockstar, which is exactly what it sounds like. I've been playing music ever since. When I began taking music theory classes as a college sophomore, my music writing and teaching advanced tremendously. During quarantine, I turned inward and learned to record and produce my own music. My musical journey has been long, sometimes difficult, and always joyful. I hope to inspire other young (and old) people to find joy and meaning in music.
In addition to playing music, I also teach professionally. I have taught multiple subjects (including literature, science and, of course, music) in classroom and summer camp settings. Currently, I am a preschool teacher at Purple Moon Child Development. I love to help children grow and learn about themselves. Music can change a young person's life. It sure changed mine. By combining my love of teaching with my love of music, I'll inspire young and old folks to keep jamming and learning.
